Understanding Our Levels

01

Moderate

For individuals in good health who are comfortable with 4-6 hours of hiking per day with a light daypack. Trails are well-maintained with moderate elevation gain.

02

Challenging

Designed for avid hikers. Expect 6-8 hours of hiking daily, significant elevation changes, and potentially difficult terrain. A solid level of fitness is required.

03

Strenuous

Our most demanding trips. These involve long days (8+ hours), high altitudes, steep sections, and variable weather. Previous multi-day hiking experience is essential.

Frequently Asked Questions

We welcome solo travelers! Many of our clients join us on their own. We can pair you with another same-gender traveler to share accommodations, or you can opt for a single supplement for a private room/tent, where available. Our group dynamic is famously inclusive and friendly.

The required fitness level varies significantly by tour. Once you book a trip, you will receive a detailed pre-trip package that includes a comprehensive training guide with weekly goals to help you prepare. Generally, we recommend a consistent routine of cardiovascular exercise (running, cycling, hiking) and strength training.

Safety is our top priority. Our guides are experts in mountain meteorology and will make decisions to mitigate risk. This may involve altering the route, waiting out a storm, or in rare cases, turning back. We always have contingency plans in place. Remember, mountain weather is part of the adventure!
